The Use and Abuse of History

Professor Aditya Mukherjee, General President of the Indian History Congress, taught Contemporary Indian History at JNU for over four decades. He chaired the Centre for Historical Studies and directed the Jawaharlal Nehru Institute of Advanced Study at JNU. As a prolific author, he co-authored influential books like “India’s Struggle for Independence” and “Imperialism, Nationalism and the Making of the Indian Capitalist Class 1927-1947,” significantly contributing to scholarship.
