This lecture examines the evolution of cosmopolitanisms in twentieth-century Kerala, focusing on migration and transnationalism. The former allowed for cosmopolitanism of ideas, while post-independence political conditions impacted migration and transnationalism, resulting in cosmopolitanism of duty. Dr. Devika will discuss how these changes impacted modernity in Kerala.
