About the Film Series:
Faces of Climate Resilience captures voices from some of India’s most climate-vulnerable regions, such as Kerala, Maharashtra, Odisha, Rajasthan and Uttarakhand using multimedia. The short documentary series strives to make climate change more tangible beyond data through lived experiences. It highlights how individuals and communities at India’s grassroots are adapting to the climate crisis and building resilience. Faces of Climate Resilience won the 2023 CMCC Climate Change Communication Award “Rebecca Ballestra”.
About the Director:
Shawn Sebastian is a filmmaker and an independent journalist based in Kochi. He is the co-founder of Drokpa Films, a production house specialising in development-centred multimedia content. Over the last eight years, Shawn has directed several documentaries for various state governments, nonprofit organisations, and news platforms such as Discovery+ and Associated Press. He was a Legislative Assistant to Member of Parliament (LAMP) fellow in 2011–12 and is an alumnus of St Stephen’s College, Delhi, and the University of Hyderabad.
