The lecture explores how the paintings of K. P. Reji – a Kerala-born, Baroda-based artist – point to the fissures and the sutures that characterize Indian society today by focusing on four of his key works.
Dr. Satish Poduval is a professor at the Department of Cultural Studies, EFL University, Hyderabad. He has been a visiting professor in the Institute for British and American Studies at the Technological University Dresden and DAAD Postcolonial Chair in Global Modernities at the University of Potsdam. Since 2016, he has been an international supervisor and resource person in the ‘Minor Cosmopolitanisms’ Research Training Group based in Potsdam/Berlin. He is also associated with the research team that runs indiancine.ma, an online archive for Indian film studies.
