The lecture is intended to be an indulgent reading of a photograph from the Gulf migrant archives from Kerala. By recourse to a variety of visual materials, and mobilizing the role of visuality in the context, the talk will illustrate the affiliations and affinities of the migrant photographs in imagining their lives and the world around them, and how such photographs contributed to the allure that was the Gulf in Kerala.
