About the Speaker
Dr. K.S. Madhavan is a historian and academic who focuses on the social history of Early Medieval Kerala. Currently a Professor in the Department of History at the University of Calicut, he has previously served as a Visiting Fellow at the Centre for Historical Studies (CHS) at Jawaharlal Nehru University (JNU).
His expertise also extends to social theory, human geography, and caste dynamics and he is known for his historiographical narrative which is inclusive of the agricultural practices, and social dynamics. With many public lectures to his credit, he makes historical insights accessible to a wider audience.
